Pannier Market

Name of organisation: Orwell Pannier Market
Description: Biggest village market in South Cambs, hosting circa 30 stalls, with a mix of local produce, artisan foods, local crafts, skincare and horticultural.
When they meet: 1st Saturday of the month, 10am-12pm.

Orwell Parish Council

Description: Monthly meeting of the Parish Council.

Orwell Film Club

Name of organisation: Orwell Film Club
Description: The club has been showing films in the village hall and enjoying a social catch up beforehand since 2007. We select a mixture of film ages and genres and try to cater to everyone’s tastes. With around 60 members, from late 2023 onwards we have moved to 6 showings a year.
When they meet: In the Orwell Village Hall on the 4th Thursday of every other month: January, March, May, July, September and November. Doors open at 7pm when complimentary tea and coffee are available and occasionally wine. The film usually starts at 7.30pm.

Further information: Screenings cost £5 per member and £6 per guest. Up to two under 18s are free per paying adult (film classification permitting). Membership is open to Orwell and area residents at £3.00 per person per year and provides access to the club’s free DVD back catalogue lending library as well as some influence on future film selection. Attendees are welcome to quietly picnic. The upcoming programme can be seen here on the club website.

Hillsiders Line Dancers

Women of Orwell

Name of organisation: Women of Orwell
Description: We are a local independent social group, based in the village. Come and join us for talks, events, tastings, arts and crafts and much more. We are fun, friendly, informal, and aim to host regular club evenings that are entertaining, inspiring and educational. We also organise ad-hoc litter picks, guerrilla gardening sessions, coffee mornings and major village events. We have a yearly membership of around 50 people, and a mailing list of nearly 100. Why not come and see for yourself, it’s great fun and new members are always very welcome.
When they meet: We generally host 11 regular club meetings a year, on the second Thursday of every month except August, and usually in the Village Hall.

Orwell Carpet Bowls

Name of organisation: Orwell Carpet Bowls
Description: We have two mats and each may accommodate eight players. We meet on Fridays at Orwell Village Hall to enjoy a friendly roll up with a break for a cup of tea or coffee and a chat. Suitable for all ages.
